What's New? Shopping News from Around the World, August - September 2016

With the recent breaking of details on the new Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, we thought it was time to recap some of the biggest shopping news over the past month! After all, educated consumers are smart consumers.

Let's get into the Promocodewatch top shopping news stories from around the world.

-New details on the new iPhone. Every time Apple announces a new iPhone, the world loses its collective mind. The new iPhone 7 is no exception. The newest, water-resistant iteration of the iPhone will be available for pre-order starting September 9th and will formally launch on September 16th. For those of you interested in the new iPhone 7, here are some details you'll need to know. The headphone jack has been officially ditched and will be paired instead with wireless AirPods. The iPhone 7 also comes in a larger iPhone 7 Plus, costing $649 and $759 respectively. Colors include matte black, glossy black, rose gold, silver and gold. The front-facing "selfie" cam on the iPhone 7 has been upgraded to 7 megapixels, so now your selfies will be even sexier! Check out more details on the iPhone 7 release here.

-GoPro Karma to shake up the drone industry. Drone photography and videography is a quickly expanding market and now action-camera veteran GoPro is getting their beak wet. The GoPro Karma was announced via a few sly little trailers that don't actually feature the drone itself, but rather footage captured from the drone... and it looks (and sounds) beautiful! The trailer seems to suggest that the GoPro Karma will be a relatively small drone, capable of small adjustments in its flight path. Also, judging by the trailer, it seems as though the GoPro Karma has mastered the art of capturing audio from a drone: it's impossible to hear any propellers in the video, but you can still perfectly hear audio from the subjects being filmed. Keep an eye out for the new GoPro Karma videography drone later in the month of September.

-Sony introduces PlayStation 4 Pro. Starting on November 10, Sony will roll out the new PlayStation 4 Pro for $399 and a slimmer version of the PS4 for $299 on September 15. On the new PlayStation 4 Pro, users will be able to enjoy full 4k resolution video games and streaming video with a new Netflix app. In the future, YouTube will also be added to 4k providers on the PlayStation 4 Pro. Looks like you'll need that new 4k resolution television this winter! Check out Best Buy promo codes to help you save on the latest tech.

-Tesla chases Ferrari. Tesla CEO Elon Musk proved once again why he's one of the incredible minds of our time when he announced the his Tesla electric car can now keep pace with a Ferrari. With new, more powerful batteries, capable of over 300 miles per charge, the most capable Tesla cars can hit 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. That's a hot rod for about a tenth of the price of a high end Ferrari. Oh, and did we mention you're also doing the environment a huge favor? Nice one, Elon!

-KFC sells out of Fried Chicken Sunscreen. Yes, you read that right. In a crazy, whacky, once-in-a-lifetime promotion, Kentucky Fried Chicken made and distributed a limited number of fried chicken scented sunscreen. You know, for those times when you all you want to do is reek of chicken. Check out the promo here.

Building a camera empire is one thing. Building a wide ranging technology mega corporation is surely another. The GoPro itself is a fantastic product. But, it's a camera- and cameras of high quality are increasingly accessible to the casual consumer. It's a branch of the technology market that's har... Read more...

The year is 1977. Your eyes and attention remain sharply focused on the white dot gliding across the TV, from one flat Atari paddle to another. You've heard the term, no doubt, or have already snipped a cable bill from your own monthly billing calendar. "Cutting the cord" is a somewhat graphic turn of phrase that has been reborn, so to speak, to define the act of migration a consumer undergoes when transfering TV viewing services from the t...
