It appears Amazon's "Prime Day" is here to stay. After tremendous success in its first year, Amazon is hosting its 2nd annual Prime Day today, Tuesday, July 12th 2016.
What is Prime Day?
Prime Day is a special sale hosted on Amazon.com with deals exclusively for Amazon Prime members. The first Prime Day came last summer on July 15th, 2015. According to a CNN Money report, it was the biggest day in the company's 20-year history. A whopping 34.4 million items were ordered, crushing their previous record held on Black Friday. With numbers like that, it is no surprise the E-Commerce giant decided to turn Prime Day into an annual event.
What to Expect on Prime Day 2016?
This year Prime Day will be the biggest sale Amazon has ever had. The company is promising Prime members 100,000 deals to choose from, with new deals launching as often as every 5 minutes. As an added bonus, this year Amazon will run a 5 day pre-sale on the days leading up to the big event.
